 Today we learnt about why popcorn pops.  Here is my writing

How Does Popcorn Pop?

 Do you know why popcorn pops?  Popcorn has to have a number of things happen before it will pop.

The kernel is hard on the outside but has a tiny bit of water inside of it. The kernel must be 19% water for the pop to happen.  If it does not have the right amount of water the pop will not happen.

Then the water heats up then it turns into steam and then the outside shell can’t cope with the pressure that the steam creates and it explodes.

That is how that lovely popcorn pops!
